Hi, I'm Fiona. As a level 4 Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist, I have a comprehensive and versatile approach to massage therapy, combining multiple advanced techniques to target both performance enhancement and injury recovery.
I use my skills and knowledge to address a wide range of athletic and rehabilitative needs
Compression therapy uses compression boots designed to improve circulation and reduce muscle soreness, swelling, and fatigue. The inflatable boots mimic a massage-like effect, helping to promote blood flow and lymphatic drainage.
These boots are commonly used by athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and individuals recovering from injury or surgery. They can be used as part of recovery after intense exercise to alleviate soreness or to help with conditions like lymphedema or poor circulation.
Dry Needling is a therapeutic technique used to target myofascial trigger points—areas of muscle tissue that are tight, painful, and may refer pain to other parts of the body. It's a form of neuromuscular therapy that involves inserting thin, sterile needles directly into these trigger points to alleviate pain, release muscle tightness, and improve range of motion.
IASTM, or Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation, is a therapy that helps with tight muscles, soft tissue issues, and scar tissue. It uses special tools to apply targeted pressure on muscles, fascia, tendons, and ligaments. The aim is to break down scar tissue, promote healing, and restore normal function. IASTM is particularly useful for relieving muscle stiffness, treating injuries, and reducing chronic pain.
Cupping therapy is an ancient technique found in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat numerous conditions. It involves creating a vacuum in specialised cups on the skin to lift tissue, believed to enhance healing, alleviate pain, and boost circulation. Various forms of cupping exist, yet all rely on the fundamental concept of suction to improve blood flow and encourage the body's innate recuperative mechanisms.
Kinesiology Taping is a therapeutic technique that uses specially designed elastic tape applied to the skin. It aims to provide support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting movement and is used to facilitate healing, reduce pain, and improve physical performance.
Swedish massage is one of the most common and popular forms of therapeutic massage. It focuses on relaxing the entire body by using a variety of techniques designed to improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and promote relaxation.
